I want to see the world

I want to save for something

I want to see the world

Below are a few things to consider as part of your financial journey.

Once you're ready to find out more, work through the information, tools and calculators on the right.

Age?
Family?
Income?
Retired?

Whether you want to take a year and see the world, or just go on a bit of a jolly, you’ll probably need to save some money to do it. Here are a few things to think about first:

1. How much will I need?
How much you need depends on where you want to go. Do some research about your trip – work out how much flights and accommodation could cost, and then look into local costs to see how much you’ll need per day. Don’t forget about any extra costs before you go, such as travel insurance, vaccinations or sun tan lotion.

2. How much can I afford to save?
Our budget planner will help you work out how much you can actually afford to save. Then use the monthly savings calculator to work out how long it will take to meet your target figure.

3. Where should I put my savings?
Places to put your money include savings accounts, cash ISAs and Premium bonds. Read more about the pros and cons of each to help you choose which one is right for your holiday savings.

4. How do I begin?
Banks, building societies, the internet, or call centres could be the first port of call when you’re ready to start saving.
