Past performance

That is a tricky area. Just because a company has done well in the past, does not mean it will be a star performer in the future. Even the rules tell you that… Past performance should not be seen as an indication of future performance.

But, companies that are consistently near the top of the performance tables regularly, year in, year out can be a good starting point. Past performance is usually shown on a one, three, five and ten year basis depending on the fund and when it started.
