In order to make sure you can afford the lifestyle you want when you retire you need to make sure you’re doing something about it today. And whilst it may seem a long way off, it’s never too early to start saving for your retirement.
Any state pension that you receive may not be enough to fund the lifestyle that you want and many employers don’t offer a final salary pension anymore.  Companies often move their employees into externally run pension schemes where the income they get in retirement is partly dependent on the performance of the fund or funds the pension is invested in.
