When making a claim you’ll need to prove that you meet the criteria set out in the conditions of the policy. Try to keep all of your policy documents somewhere safe and handy. If you do need to make a claim, you’ll need the details from these.
First and foremost find the claims number and give them a call, they’ll be able to talk you through the process which will involve filling in a claims form and providing proof of your details. The earlier you can do this the better as some policies have time limits on making a claim, and a waiting time (known as a deferred period) before they pay out.
